Manasa Khandrika, the founder of SSK, embarked on her musical journey at the tender age of seven. Guided by esteemed musical veterans such as Guru Smt. Sundari Janakiraman, Sri N. Surya Rao, Sri Arra Krishna Murthy, and Sri D.V. Mohana Krishna, she developed into a versatile musician. Their mentorship transformed her musical experience, a legacy she passionately carries forward by imparting the art to future generations.
From an early age, Manasa showcased her talent at renowned venues in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Thyagaraja Ganasabha, Ravindra Bharathi, and Nellore Town Hall. Her performances also graced the airwaves of All India Radio Hyderabad, and she later hosted musical shows on television and live shows as she grew up.
Manasa’s musical prowess has reached international stages, with performances in both India and the USA.
She has also nurtured her students, guiding them to shine on various platforms such as Shruti Laya NY, Telugu Fine Arts Society NJ, Bridgewater Brahmotvasam Venkateshwara Temple NJ, and online platforms like IMPL and Annamayya Padayagynam. Over the years, she has actively participated in numerous cultural events, spreading the joy of music.
Continuing her musical journey, Manasa currently receives guidance from Guru Uma Viswanathan, the daughter of Guru Sundari Janakiraman, and Dr. Shyamala Vinod, a renowned Voxologist, Voice Culture therapist, and faculty member at Madras University.
Beyond her dedication to learning and embracing timeless musical techniques, Manasa finds great fulfillment in teaching and inspiring a diverse range of students. From young children to special needs individuals, teens, adults, and even senior citizens, she passionately shares the gift of music, recognizing that age is no barrier to embracing its love and passion for life.
